Program Spotlight
by MALLORY KARL
Best Buddies Delaware's Citizens Program has been off to a fabulous start this year. We already have 12 buddy pairs, an astonishing number considering we just opened the program in September. On top of the program having many participants, it also has extremely strong friendships. This month we would like to highlight one of these friendships.
Jon Jeffery and Grant Hill met on October 28, 2009. The two immediately hit it off. They realized they shared many hobbies and interests. Both work at the University of Delaware. Jon is a librarian on campus and Grant works at the Center for Disabilities Studies.
The two enjoy museums, reading, and learning new things. Best Buddies Delaware has been impressed with their commitment to the program. The two try and talk often and get together several times a month! Thus far the two have enjoyed many of Delaware's museums, including the Delaware Natural History Museum and the Delaware Art Museum.
Both individuals see the friendship blossoming. When asked if they were becomign good friends, Grant (the buddy) stated that he "certainly sees the relationship heading in that direction." Best Buddies Delaware is thrilled with Grant and Jon's friendship.
